Covid Vaccination Programme

In 2019, a global pandemic emerged which is now known as COVID-19 or Coronavirus. Vaccination laboratories around the world worked tirelessly to develop vaccines to mitigate the effects of the virus. To support with the mitigation of the spread of the virus, vaccination centres were commissioned by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) (previously known as the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)), to deliver groundbreaking vaccination programme nationwide.

LADMS was trusted with the enormous responsibility to implement and provide vaccination centres for patients across the East Coast of Lincolnshire.

With less than a week’s notice, the LADMS team launched the Louth Vaccination Programme in December 2020 and rapidly expanded the initiative to Skegness and Mablethorpe in January 2021.

During the initial phase of the programme, LADMS vaccinated over 6,500 patients within the first two weeks. On multiple occasions, LADMS led the county in vaccination delivery.

The second phase of the programme prioritised care home vaccinations, where LADMS not only led the county but also became one of the top-performing teams nationally.

This achievement was made possible through the dedication of our senior leadership team, operational management staff, and the unwavering support of our NHS colleagues, who played a pivotal role in driving the COVID-19 vaccination programme.

By collaborating closely with regulatory bodies, local General Practices, clinicians, and other stakeholders, LADMS rose to the challenge, demonstrating the remarkable power of teamwork. Together, we worked swiftly and effectively to safeguard our patients, families, and communities.

During this unprecedented period, LADMS successfully administered over 100,000 vaccinations in the East Lindsey District.

The service was decommissioned in December 2022.
